Trinity International Kindergarten Campus

The idea of starting the school was inspired by one of the directors’, Ms. Alice, love for children and personal experience as a parent. She could not afford to take her children to the available schools offering international curricula within Nairobi and its environs.

Drop off and pick up of the children was not working well for the full-time working-class parents hence there was a need to bridge the gap and provide flexibility.  The vision for Trinity International Kindergarten was to provide comprehensive care, including meals and textbooks, without constantly asking for additional support from parents throughout the term.

The journey of Trinity has been a mix of ups and downs. While there have been good and enjoyable times, we have had challenging moments. Enrolment started with 16 children, and gradually, the admissions went up as the parents’ trust was established.  With the steady growth, we set up classes and hired staff. One major challenge was when the school faced issues with the landlord at the first premises, leading to eviction during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this period, we identified a property and opened the Maji Mazuri Campus. Construction started immediately, and enough classes were built to accommodate all the children when we resumed physical learning in 2021.

Despite the challenges, we have enjoyed the journey and are passionate about what we do. We have been consistently training teachers and support staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to deliver quality education and serve the school community better.

Ms Alice’s favourite memory is of the first day of school, opening with 7 children despite not having prior experience in education. The sight of children hugging and freely interacting with their peers brought her immense joy. When the school reopened after the COVID-19 pandemic, we were not sure whether children and teachers would return. To our surprise, 150 children resumed, including all the teachers, not to mention, at the time, a  waiting list of 89 children. This unexpected turnout brought tears of gratitude and reinforced our vision and mission.
